hike

One of Aaron's old roommates is in town for a while, and last Wednesday night, she suggested that we go out hiking sometime in the coming week before she had to leave. We decided on Wednesday or Thursday, as Aaron and I both had them off. It's a good thing we didn't go yesterday because it was so incredibly hot outside, and such a beautiful day for it today.

Although I warned Aaron that I'm terribly out of shape, he seemed to think I'd do just fine, which, for the most part, I did, until I started getting some weird shooting pains on the inside of my knee, which were only weird because they did not feel like normal shooting pains that I usually get, but something to do with tendons or ligaments. There wasn't much further to go, but I decided I didn't want to finish the trek, and Aaron stayed with me and Darcy, his roommate, finished the hike and came back down to meet us where we'd stopped.

The way down was much better, because going uphill was just terrible for me. I haven't worked out in forever, and that one time last Wednesday doesn't count. Had to come home, eat, shower, 'cause I was covered in sunscreen, sweat and dirt, and take a nap before I could fully recover from the hike up Crow Peak. I'm going to hurt so bad in the morning.

I know how you feel. I just hiked someplace in Nevada to an abandoned mine and my lower back was sore as hell for a day. However, the pictures that I SHOULD be great. I used some very slow b&w film that has to be hand processed...so it will be a while before I get them. When I do, I'll email one your way.
